Summary overview of responsibilities:

As a Product Manager, your role is to secure the commercial success of your products by ensuring that they meet the demands of the market and expectations of our customers. In order to do so, you will need to research, identify, document, and communicate the requirements and direction of products in the Travel Intelligence portfolio.

This position will focus in particular on the evolution of the Amadeus Schedule Recovery product. This product is used by airlines to manage their flight schedules on the day of operations, helping to manage disruptions to scheduled operations through actions such as delaying or cancelling flights or reassigning aircraft.

You will develop a high level of understanding of the business challenges of stakeholders and the various end-users of the product. Taking direction from customers, the market and partners, you will determine and specify the requirements for product evolution, features and capabilities. You will champion the product through the development process, from product definition through design and development to delivery. You will support other teams such as Marketing, Sales and Account Management as the central source of product information. You will work closely with product definition and development and give direction for the roadmap.

We are looking for an individual with Product Management skills and a good understanding of agile software application development.

Proven experience in the area of airline operations control, together with a well-rounded knowledge of the airline industry, is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Major responsibilities:

Product Requirements Gathering & Prioritization

Analyse business requirements from specific customers/prospects or market segment.

Consolidate and articulate business needs into new product concepts or enhancements in line with Amadeus’ distinctive competencies.

Collect, validate and translate product requirements to determine product scope and priority. Write high-level Statements of Requirements and develop product plans that identify key market needs. Consolidate and effectively arbitrate requirements for the market.

Work closely with Product Management and Development counterparts in other areas within Amadeus to recommend priorities and define product plans and alignment or synergy opportunities for new products or enhancements.

Product Development Monitoring

Initiate projects with Development counterparts once the product plan and budget have been validated. Monitor the development and ensure it matches with plans and budget.

Write statements of requirements and collaborate with Research and Development teams in the creation of detailed functional specifications and prioritisation of user stories under an agile methodology.

Review functional specifications to ensure they correspond to the customers/market needs.

Manage the product functionality from customers/market business requirements to user acceptance.

Manage requirements and project change proposals during the development cycle.

Product Implementation Support

Work with Research and Development and Services teams to ensure that the product is designed to make implementations at new customers as efficient as possible, and to clearly define and communicate product implementation activities and dependencies.

Product Sales & Marketing Support

Ensure that product features are well documented and communicated. Work with Sales and Pre-Sales in the support of customer conversions and/or RFPs as needed. Support Marketing in the development of product overviews, marketing collateral, press releases, etc. and in product presentations and demonstrations at customer events.

Market Strategy Definition

Study the marketplace, analyse requirements and needs of our customers, as well as platform features/capabilities and competitive landscape.

Participate in determining how the marketplace and Amadeus’ capabilities align to deliver innovative solutions, as well as identify potential gaps and in establishing a strategic roadmap.

  • Should have prior experience working with development/QA/P-defs to prioritize roadmap items for delive
  • Past experience with working on agile teams, scrum masters are a bonus.

The Travel Intelligence unit is a new area of IT diversification for Amadeus. Amadeus is strongly committed to grow this new division which it sees as a key strategic area. The aim of this new unit is to provide Travel Intelligence Services which revolutionize the travel industry and enable customers to make their business more profitable.

The Solution Manager's responsibilities include:
  • Customer requirement management & Solution scoping
  • Solution design: design of the best solution to the customers' needs, cost & risk assessment scoping
  • Solution delivery: be the interface with the customers, prioritize deliveries during the project lifecycle, provide the adequate documentation

Major responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering & Management
  • The Solution Manager needs to exhibit strong subject matter expertise and listening skills: understanding customers' requirements
  • Build his/her own vision based on previous projects, existing products, etc.
  • Challenge customers' requirements (making customers aware of all alternatives, influencing their decisions, etc.), using his/her subject matter expertise. Negotiate with the customers' senior management

Solution Scoping
  • The Solution Manager is the owner of the solution backlog (Agile solution owner) and is responsible for its managment during the sprints
  • The Solution Manager interacts with the customers to provide a detailed scoping and priorities
  • The Solution Manager will collect the software and hardware requirements
  • Market Strategy Definition

Solution Design
  • The Solution Manager is responsible for designing the solution, identifying the product components, potential 3rd party solutions, as well as the developement required
  • The Solution Manager is responsible for coordinating the cost & risk assessment for buidling the designed solution
  • The Solution Manager, along with product managers, assesses the reusability of the required development service

Solution Delivery
  • The Solution Manager works closely with data scientists and other Amadeus' parties to secure the delivery
  • The Solution Manager is responsible for defining precise acceptance criteria to make sure that the product deliveries are in line with the customers' expectations
  • The Solution Manager is responsible for the delivery of documentation such as the Solution Overview, Solution User guide, etc.

RFP
  • RFP: the Solution Manager is called upon to support RFPs answers and interface with Pre-Sales
